FanForLife.Org Event, Seaport Village, April 18, 2015

For the third consecutive year SDKC was asked to support the FanForLife event at Seaport Village. The FanForLife event is put on by The John Brockington Foundation and raises funds to support local patients who are waiting for organ transplants. For more info see FanForLife Website.

Kite making and flying is just one of many activities at the event. The kite making is sponsored by UCSD Health Systems and one of our jobs is to keep the sponsors kite in the air during the event. Our main job is to help kids decorate and fly Frustrationless Flyers. This is not really an event where it is our job to show off.

This year we made 60 kites in just about 2 hours. Next year we definitely could use a few more volunteers!

Lessons learned this year: The event seems to be growing so recruit a few more volunteers; bring our own markers as backup; pre-assemble some kites if there is a lack of help.
